Integrative Bodywork  ~  Massage Therapy

#MT131549

For 24 years Annette worked in the hospitality industry for a well-known hotel chain and held various positions from the front desk to Revenue manager. As a wife and mom, she often massaged her family, and with shifts in the corporate world and her growing passion for helping people and finding a more natural, self-healing approach to their healthcare, she was led to pursue an education in massage therapy.

She has been a massage therapist since 2019, primarily providing therapeutic deep tissue sessions at her alma mater, Ke Kino Massage Academy and Institute of Healing, and through her own practice, Cura Massage Therapy. She has studied Swedish massage, pregnancy massage, deep tissue, trigger point, foot reflexology, massage for TMJD, and Myofascial release with Ke Kino; CranioSacral Therapy (CST) with the Upledger Institute; and Lymphatic Drainage Massage with the Chickly Health Institute. In the field of Sports Massage, she has had the unique (and dream come true!) experience of working with the Dallas Cowboys for a season, utilizing integrative muscle energy techniques and muscle activation on the coaching staff and players before and after games for performance and preventative maintenance.

Her favorite type of bodywork is therapeutic massage, as it incorporates working on problem areas while allowing the body to enjoy a state of relaxation. Her goal with her clients is to have them focus on relaxation, keep them feeling at ease, comfortable enough to fall asleep. Sessions begin with the foundations of Swedish Massage with a client's preference of pressure, with several modalities incorporated as needed, as each person is different and not all modalities are meant for everyone. She takes the time to listen to your story and understand your pain and ailments, which allows her to personalize your session, providing the greatest healing benefit for your long-term health goals.

She has recently developed a passion for working with mom/baby and the family as a whole (let’s not forget "dad", "grandma", etc.!) not only providing therapeutic massage, but also working with fellow HAVEN providers in team bodywork sessions focusing on the family dynamics of health and wellness. She is currently studying with Marta Vecchio and Kelsey Zellmer to better understand the mom/baby relationship and how TOTs effect not only their body tension, feeding capabilities, and overall health and well-being, but also the effects TOTs issues have on dad and the extended family. She is in the process of completing ‘The Unsettled Baby’ course and looks forward to further study in bodywork for pediatrics.

When she is not working on clients or studying, she likes to spend her time with her family.  She has a great love for the outdoors, so she finds a way to be outside and enjoy nature every chance she gets!
