Kelsey practices lactation from a holistic approach, focusing on the mom/baby dyad. During a consult she will assess reflexes, development, body movement, latch/positioning, feeding behaviors/oral motor function, and the overall wellbeing of mom and baby. As she continues her training in bodywork, she also integrates gentle touch therapy into her appointments as well. Each plan of care is individualized to both mom's and baby's needs and mom's overall goals.

Kelsey's areas of experience/specialty include:

  • TOTS (oral restrictions/"ties") & Pre/Post & Guided Frenectomy Care

  • NICU/Premature Infants & Multiples

  • Bottle Refusal & "Older Infant" Nursing Issues

  • Whole Food Nutrition, Herbs, Homeopathy, & Natural Remedies

Kelsey grew up in McKinney and currently lives in Greenville, TX with her wonderfully, supportive husband and 4 "littles" of her own! She has always had an innate passion for newborns and was a nanny throughout college specializing in newborn/infant care. Her passion then blossomed into a career as a postpartum (mom/baby) RN and her current role as a lactation consultant.

Through her work in the hospital, brief work at a local Birth Center, and encounters in her own personal life, she has witnessed the great need for more prenatal/postpartum support of mothers. She believes breastfeeding support starts with supporting the mom/baby "dyad" as a whole. A mother must feel safe, supported, and have her basic needs met to best care for her little one.

From 2020-2021 she worked for Beyond Pediatric Dentistry as their in office IBCLC and received continuing education addressing the full picture surrounding infant "ties". During this time, she was also in close collaboration with an amazing team of bodyworkers at Ke Kino Institute of Healing.  It was during this time of collaboration, she started to realize bodywork was just as essential to a mom/baby dyad as any other support. In addition to feedback from clients, she personally experienced the impact bodywork could have on healing and working through trauma after her third child's birth by emergency c-section and his continued battle with feeding issues his first year of life.

Bodywork is able to bridge the gap of mom/baby being stuck in the sympathetic "fight or flight" and bring them into a more relaxed parasympathetic state where deeper bonding, better feeding, and overall "thriving" can occur vs. just "surviving".  It also helps resolve feeding issues related to physical tensions in the infant's body, promotes lymphatic drainage (ie. improves milk flow for mom) and speeds up healing and recovery. Many of the significant issues "stumping" lactation consultants and infant care providers concerning growth, feeding, and development today, can often be improved if not resolved through bodywork! She could not ignore this realization and began to feel called to be a part of the healing.

In November of 2021, she began studying CranioSacral Therapy with The Upledger Institute and now integrates this therapy into her practice as well as other modalities as she continues her studies. To ensure the best care of her clients, she continues to collaborate & seek mentorship with more experienced therapists, and in of July 2022, teamed up with Marta Vecchio LMT, MTI, CIMT to open The HAVEN.

Since moving to Greenville and beginning the journey of homeschooling her littles, her hours are limited, but she still enjoys working with her Haven partners and takes every opportunity to work with them to provide multidisciplinary, individualized care to each family they serve and continued resources for education and support!
